Luke 1:26-38

If Gabriel appeared to me
Would I be strong enough to say
The Yes that Mary spoke freely
Let it be God’s way

I walk in a world that pulls at me
Noisy with demands
I try to rise above and be
All that God commands
But I admit I find it hard
To bow my head to chance
It seems to me God’s way is hard
And drawn in sifting sands

Would I believe I really met
An angel sent by God
Would I open my whole heart to hear
The messenger of love
Would I step up or step away
To whatever is asked of me
Submit my life to God’s will
And faithfully proceed

So much pain for the stars and moon
Earthy joy too short
